Before using this building as a monastery, the nuns were based in Pont-Audemer in the north of the department. This congregation was canonically dissolved by decree on August 4, 2007. Since that date the sisters have left Carmel. At this same period this building was bought by a private buyer. During the night of September 27 to 28, 2021, a fire unfortunately devastated the site by taking away the roof and 5000 m2 of floor.
