Old postcard representing the French submarine X, with several sailors visible on the building on the surface. Printed legend: The Submarine Publisher's note: Collection PB, Cherbourg. The submarine X, number Q35, was an experimental vessel built at the Cherbourg Arsenal. Launched in 1904, it was then renamed Dauphin in 1911. Circulated card. Correspondence dated handwritten from Cherbourg, October 12, 1909, therefore before its change of name. Green 5 c stamp and cancellation on the front.
